September 28 has been designated
International Green Day of Service. So, in honor of that, the
Sacramento Tree Foundation is organizing a tree planting session at
the A. Warren McClaskey Adult Education School (on J Street between
51st and 52nd), which offers classes for disabled adults.
The goal is to plant trees to shade the
parking lot and to fix up the campus garden. If you have gloves, you
are encouraged to bring them. Otherwise, all training and materials
are going to be provided by the Sacramento Tree Foundation. So all
you really need to bring is yourself and a bit of enthusiasm (and
some water).
Work is planned from 9am to 12 noon.
