We
all admire the trees in and around McKinley
Park, and now here's your opportunity to learn more
about them. Starting July 2, the Sacramento Tree Foundation will be
offering a series of tree tours of McKinley Park. This tour will
begin near the Shepard
Garden and Arts Center parking lot, and will be led by
a certified arborist. The tour will run from 6:30-8pm.
According
to the Sac Tree Foundation's website, participants are encouraged to
bring a tablet or smartphone and will be shown how to identify trees,
edit data and a lot more using GreenprintMaps.
Digital technology is not required, however, to enjoy the trees and
the tour.
In
order to make the most of the tour, it is recommended that you wear
comfortable shoes and bring along a water bottle if the weather
is warm (which we know it will be).
If
you can't make it this time, there will be additional tours on July
30, August 20 and September 23. For more information, visit
http://sactree.com.
