SacTown 10 Mile Run in East Sac

On Sunday April 1^st East Sac, Midtown and Downtown will see lots of runners. This is the second annual Credit Union SacTown 10 Mile Run and last year it had 528 runners, and this year it might grow to 1,000.

The race starts and finishes at the State Capitol and East Sac will see them running along McKinley Blvd, Elvas Ave and M Street. Expect streets to be closed off from 8:00 to 10:00am with vehicles being allowed to cross only when there are no runners.

There is a $15,000 purse and proceeds will go to the Children’s Miracle Network.

Theodore Judah Elementary Art and Music

On Thursday March 29^th from 4:00 to 7:30 Theodore Judah Elementary will be holding their Spring Arts and Music Festival in East Sac.

The students will be showcasing their artistic talents and there will be a live auction. All proceeds will benefit the schools art and music program.

Swing by 3919 McKinley Blvd for free entry. They will have food available for purchase.

Shepard Garden and Arts Center Spring Sale

The Shepard Garden and Arts Center in East Sac’s McKinley Park is holding its annual spring sale on Saturday and Sunday March 24^th and 25^th. The sale will run from 10:00am to 4:00pm each day. You will be able to purchase plants, garden supplies and art from more than 40 vendors.

The proceeds will go to run the center and accounts for about 15% of the centers budget.

You can find them at 3330 McKinley Blvd.

I just helped my clients purchase this wonderful home in East Sac. There were seven offers in four days and I helped my clients barely beat out the next highest offer.

As far as homes for sale in East Sac go, this was a real diamond in the rough. The home needs some updating but it is in great overall condition, it is close to McKinley Park and it has a real two car garage, which if you’ve been looking in East Sac you know is very hard to find.

I’m so happy to have helped this family find and purchase this home. I’ll be inviting them to our block parties starting up next month. Since they live just a couple blocks away it will be an easy walk over.

East Sac Boy Scouts!

There is a new East Sac Boy Scout Troop, #1001 and they will be meeting at the Fremont Presbyterian Church in River Park. The Boy Scouts are open to boys ages 11 to 18.

OK, it needs lots of work but that is what these buyers were looking for. Something that they could get their son into for a low price that he could build a bit of sweat equity in. We started on this property in December and had to wait for the power and gas to be turned on but finally made it to closing!

McKinley Library Goes Green

On Thursday March 15^th East Sac’s McKinley Library will hold a free children’s program celebrating the Irish with music and dance. The fun starts at 3:00 at 601 Alhambra Blvd.

Pops in the Park Lineup!

The bands for East Sac’s 2012 Pops in the Park summer concerts have been announced!

Mercy Me! will kick it off on June 2^nd with their rhythm and blues in McKinely Park

The Chris Gardner Band will be playing Country music at Glenn Hall Park on June 9^th.

My favorite, the Q-Balls will perform rock-n-roll classics from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s in East Portal Park on June 16^th.

Ivan Najera and Friends will finish it off with Latin Jazz in Bertha Henschel Park on June 23^rd.

2011 Masters Club!

It is official, I made the Masters Club for 2011. To make it into the Masters Club you have to be in the top 10% of the SAR Membership based on your production in 2011.

The purpose of the Sacramento Association of REALTORS® Masters Club is to support the Sacramento Association in providing additional programs and services that enhance the competency, professionalism and productivity of its Members, and to recognize the achievements of top REALTORS® who apply for membership and who have earned a level of excellence in real estate sales.

2011 was a great year and 2012 is shaping up to be even better. I love that when I help more people find a great home or sell their old home that it means I’m having a great year!

275 39th Street Termite Tent

No, the circus hasn't set up camp on the corner of 39th and 36th in East Sac. Just the pest company taking out a few termites that were found in the inspection process.
